How QR Codes can grow your business
If you are not familiar with QR codes, they are a box of blocky graphics that behave very similarly to a barcode. You may have already noticed them appearing in magazines or other print advertising across the country. Essentially they contain small amounts of data that can help in your marketing campaign.
When you scan or read a QR code with your iPhone, Android or other camera-enabled smartphone, you can link to digital content on the web; activate a number of phone functions including email, IM and SMS; and connect the mobile device to a web browser.
QR codes are the perfect way to link your traditional print campaigns with your online activity. By placing the code on a poster, promotional leaflet or magazine customers can quickly and easily access your website with just a push of a button. This link can either be to your homepage, or directly to a specified landing page. You can even link the code to social media functions providing a way for your customers to comment on your services whilst they are out and about.
The potential for QR Codes is limitless; what's most exciting is that it takes what social media is doing well, i.e. bringing people and technology together, and enhances it even further. As the technology improves, the codes will be able to hold even more data and soon enough may even be able to install apps directly to your mobile phone.
