Last week Mapperley Park Clinic, a leading laser clinic based in Nottingham, held an open day event inviting its customers to come into their surgery and watch a surgical procedure known as Blepharoplasty, or Eye Bag Removal, procedure.

This was filmed from within the operation theatre and streamed live to their audience  in the Clinic and then through their website engaging thousands of potential customers from the World Wide Web.  The content was then edited marginally and is currently posted at http://www.mapperleypark.co.uk/streaming/.  Further edits are engaged and in a short period of time, the material will be packaged and hosted in order to provide a number of differet content formats for different purposes, including 2 minute you-tube videos.

The Absolute CMS which runs the Mapperley Park Clinic website was used to deliver the online, real-time streaming of the event. Also, as part of the promotion for the event, Absolute were employed to develop and distribute e-shots to the Clinic's extensive database.

The event was deemed to be a great success with visits to the website increasing to over 300% of normal traffic levels.  It also demonstrates the determination and imagination of the Clinic's Managing Director, Paul Stapleton, to involve new technologies in the marketing of his business.
