Migration: a good idea any time of the year
The need for an easy-to-use, SEO-friendly Content Management System (CMS), is one of the key reasons why customers choose the Absolute CMS 4.0. A good example of this was our recent web design Leicester and development for RA Designs, who specialise in 3D modeling and rapid prototyping for the jewellery market.
We originally produced a static HTML site for RA Designs back in 2005, but since then, the need to keep content up to date and SEO-optimised has become increasingly important.
Why should you migrate?
Back in 2005, websites were mainly created to act as an on-line brochure should a potential client look for your business on the internet. Websites of this nature are referred to as ‘static', since they are made up of fixed pages that can only be changed through software such as Dreamweaver, which edit the HTML.
These days, the internet is often the first point of access to your business and the technologies involved in taking advantage of the medium are ever more sophisticated. As such, sites now need to process and deliver information in a more effective way. Here at Absolute, all the websites we develop are based on our content management system. A CMS-driven website allows you to update and add content quickly and easily, removing the need to employ a web developer every time a revision is required. This ability to update more readily has many advantages, not least making you more reactive to changes in your market and facilitating better SEO (search engine optimisation), helping you to achieve a better ranking on the search engines; Google likes sites that are updated on a regular basis as they are seen as more relevant for its users. A comprehensive CMS platform, such as our own Absolute CMS 4.0, can also help you manage and control additional business processes by harvesting information for future use. Additionally, your investment would effectively be ‘future-proofed' as further modules can be added to the established system as and when expansion is required. We have existing modules for handling content such as News, Recruitment, Case Studies, Newsletters, Questionnaires and Google Maps and our development team has the skills to create bespoke solutions for your site. ..
RA Designs recognised the need to be more ‘hands-on' with their online content and were keen to be able to add new designs to their Gallery of Work as and when the products went to market. Future plans for the site will involve further expansion of their Case Study module and the facility to produce and send a bi-monthly newsletter.
