Our Digital Services Manager, James Bird, was in London yesterday for the annual Online Marketing Masterclasses event, organised by Econsultancy. This industry event was attended by marketing professionals from the likes of Tesco, Marks & Spencer, The Guardian, Virgin Atlantic and John Lewis.

The day was split into three sections: Acquire, Convert and Retain & Grow, with speakers from The Telegraph, BSkyB, Dell, The Carphone Warehouse and others sharing their experiences of search engine optimisation (SEO), social networking and ecommerce.

As well as being a great opportunity to share experiences and ideas with likeminded professionals and do a spot of networking, it was reassuring to hear industry experts at such a high level advocating practices and approaches that we employ on web marketing projects for our clients.

We are planning on distilling much of what was covered to present in a future seminar. In the meantime, if you would like to discuss your online marketing and how we can help, get in touch.

For the fourth consecutive year Absolute has been chosen to produce the prestigious Castle College University Level Courses Guide.

We were delighted to win the three way pitch with what we feel are some of our most creative designs for this exciting sector.

Following on from the success of the Further Education Prospectus earlier in the year, our success came from really challenging the brief and pushing the brand even further.

In addition to satisfying the graphic design and print production requirements of the marketing team, all of the designs submitted for the pitch were presented to a panel of current HE students at the college. The result; our designs were all in the top three selected!

The 76 page document will enable potential students to find out what's on offer at the College and explain the additional support services available to them.

We can't show you the chosen design as this won't be published until the New Year, but here are some of the runners up.

Absolute's Digital Services Manager, James Bird and Account Manager, Laura Kirby, recently attended a summer party at Hart's Hotel in Nottingham to mark the 85th anniversary of the Nottingham City Business Club.

The club was founded in 1915 with initial membership at a grand total of 35, each paying 12 shillings (60p). It wasn't until 1989 that women were finally allowed to join! Speakers over the years have included Lord Baden Powell, Neville Chamberlain and Eleanor Roosevelt.

As one of the longest standing business clubs outside of the country's capital, Laura and James are regular supporters of the business club, attending events throughout the year. Guest were treated to great food and music by a local jazz band followed by a magician and the opportunity for caricatures - as you can see, he captured Laura and James perfectly!

We are often asked about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and website design for Nottingham and Derby businesses, so should you recognize us from our caricatures whilst we're out and about at networking events, come over and say hello...

Our Digital Services Manager, James Bird, gave the presentation to the 50 attendees covering the various aspects of online marketing, including search engine optimisation (SEO), paid search marketing, email marketing and web analytics. It was great to be given this opportunity to speak to such a diverse group of businesses about the benefits of good web design and web marketing and how they can grow their online presence.

We are offering a free SEO website audit to all attendees, so if you attended the event and would like to discuss how your website could benefit from any of the topics covered, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

We are thrilled to announce that we've just been appointed to design and produce the commemorative brochure for The Territorial Army’s "TA100" campaign marking their 100 year anniversary.

The TA100 is a year of celebration to mark the contribution of the territorial soldiers who have served both past and present. It also offers thanks to the ongoing love and support of their families and gives the TA an opportunity to demonstrate what they have to offer.

IoD Partnership

Posted in Web Marketing Category

After a long relationship with the Institute of Directors (IoD) in the East Midlands, Absolute have been appointed regional partnership status to produce their ongoing marketing material and support their long standing brand identity. The partnership includes the presence of the Absolute identity on IoD collateral, as well as personal invites to all regional events. We're delighted to be selected by such a prestigious and reputable business institution as this gives us the opportunity to make contact with businesses of a like minded nature, interested in professionalism and developing long standing mutual relationships.

Our Operational Director, Dave Ellis was recently invited to attend a working lunch with Director General, Miles Templeman to discuss the challenges and difficulties resulting from the current economic climate. The lunch gave business leaders in the region an opportunity to comment on the initiatives available in the East Midlands and discuss ways in which to shape the business future.
