A cost effective theme-based M2 site
Providing a Magento 2 theme-based solution to support over 6,000 SKUs for under £20k.
Plumit are a new, family based firm, offering a wide range of plumbing parts and tools to consumers. With a product catalogue of over 5,000 products, with various technical specifications, Plumit needed a stable ecommerce platform that was scalable and easy to use, whilst keeping the budget under £20,000 for the website build.
To begin, we worked collaboratively with the client to decide how the project can be bought within budget. Building the website on a theme significantly reduced the amount of design time required for the job, and we agreed the Porto theme was best suited for the project.
After configuring the base theme, we went through a phase of ‘theme continuity’, where we adapted the theme to meet the client’s specific needs.
We then focused the majority of our efforts developing the back-end in order to support Plumit’s catalogue of over 5,000 products. This involved configuring over 300 attributes to offer advanced filtering for the range of products on offer.
Plumit also benefits from the Google shopping feed module to promote products through Google’s Merchant Centre, as well as advanced ESP integration with Mailchimp to manage abandoned cart email notifications.
Product population was performed by the client, where we provided support and training in order for them to import and update products via CSV. This significantly reduced the time required to prepare the website in time for launch.
