Magento build with personalised products and custom options.

Labels Online is the main B2B site for parent company Daymark; they’ve been in business for over 40 years and are one of the UK’s biggest label manufacturers.

The Challenge

Labels Online was operating a legacy site built on a proprietary platform that could no longer support the current business requirements or its plans to grow. Absolute were tasked with building a new Magento site from the ground up, to enable the client to offer label personalisation in addition to their stock products.

The Solution

The team at Absolute provided a UX led design approach which resulted in a bespoke theme that could facilitate the custom functionality the site required. This included:

Personalised products with custom options.
These options are configured to allow the admin to position the text for the label. This in turn updates the product image so the customer can preview their changes before buying. Following approval, the personalised image / label is generated and saved to file, so an admin can easily view it on the order.The personalised label is also generated as a PDF that can then be used to print the personalised label, thus providing a streamlined and scalable workflow process for the business.

Custom labels page
The site allows an Admin to create a custom labels page for each customer when they are logged in, so that they can easily see the custom labels that are available for them to purchase. This streamlines the purchasing process for the customer and reduces the need to search for products

Product quotes 
Cart2Quote has been installed but heavily customised. A form is used on the front end for customers to submit a request for a custom product and the Admin then uses the quotation functionality to generate a quote for the customer, which can then be managed within the core workflow of Magento i.e as a standard order. The process also allows for the resulting custom products / labels to be placed within a private category for each customer for quick reference and streamlined ordering.

Quick order page
A pre-existing module was installed and modified to work with Elastic search. This allows a customer to more easily add products to their cart by entering the SKU / qty manually or uploading a CSV.

PDF picking list and email attachments
An admin user can quickly and easily print a PDF picking list of orders which include a barcode for the order and each order line item. PDFs are also automatically attached to email notifications for ease of reference.
