BACKGROUND.

Magento 2 Development

Floor Giants is a new Magento 2 site for an established flooring business serving customers in the UK.

Floor Giants were already in the process of developing a Magento 2 site but after some consideration, they decided to take a different route with their vision for site functionality and approached Absolute to bring their ideas to life. Having worked with a number of clients in the ‘floor covering’ sector, we had plenty of experience to draw upon and suggest functionality to improve the build.

BRIEF.

Floor Giants approached Absolute with the desire to build a Magento 2 site which better reflected their sector requirements, with additional features to expand on their existing printed catalogue and ‘brick & mortar’ stores as the business develops.

With a limited budget, the decision was made for the site to be theme based, using Porto, a flexible theme which includes a wide range of base functionality.
For the site to better suit the ‘floor covering’ sector, specific development was to be included:

Flooring Calculator: An intuitive calculator on product pages helps customers determine the needed quantity of flooring and total cost, including an option to factor in 10% waste.

Store Locator: Integrated with Google's API, the store locator allows customers to easily find their nearest Floor Giants store directly on the website.

Sample Selector: Customers can effortlessly add free samples to their basket with a single click.

Understanding Floor Giants' budget constraints due to expansion, Absolute tailored the project with a theme-based approach.

Due to expansion of the business and the opening of physical stores, Floor Giants were under a restrictive budget for their Magento 2 site. Following the initial assessment, Absolute tailored the project by adopting a theme based approach,with a few bespoke tweaks to make the site more image focused, allowing Floor Giants to advertise their extensive range of products at a glance.

Absolute managed the Magento 2 project from theme selection, build and then go live, ensuring a seamless experience - all while building specific capabilities for customers to get the most out of the website.
