Rugstore NE are a family-owned business. Their online store has been supplying high quality rugs and hall runners across the UK since 2001.

When it became evident that a migration from Magento 1 to M2 was essential to continue to provide exceptional customer services to their online customers, Rugstore NE approached Absolute—an Adobe Silver Solution Partner, with expertise in Magento.

BRIEF.

Migrating eCommerce websites from M1 to M2 often involves the transportation of complex data, and for Rugstore NE this was no different. We were able to successfully incorporate stock feeds from Rugstore NE’s wholesalers–a particular challenge as the imported data was not in a standardised format.

We were able to utilise a pre-existing M2 theme to keep the budget under £25K, while including several bespoke modules including but not limited to: Reviews, Stock feeds, Layered navigation, Mass stock actions, Sort order, Order comments and Advanced shipping.

Understanding the relationship between Rugstore NE’s sales team and their customers was key to the project.

Maintaining business processes in a new environment has made the migration more efficient for Rugstore NE’s internal team, while adding some new functionality has enhanced the overall customer experience. Rugstore NE now plans to focus on organic sales rather than rely on paid search via Google.
