BACKGROUND.

The British Standards Institution (BSI) is the national standards body of the United Kingdom. BSI produces technical standards on a wide range of products and services, and also provides certification and standards-related services to businesses.

BRIEF.

BSI recognised the value of a strong brand presence and believed that their offices did not reflect this adequately.

Upon inspection, their offices appeared bleak, and it was not immediately evident that you were inside BSI’s testing labs. From huge machinery to waiting rooms, everything seemed unbranded. They enlisted Absolute to enhance their internal environment and create a cohesive brand identity that would be evident throughout all of their offices.

On top of this, they wanted to make sure everyone could see what machines they had and what tests they could operate with them. BSI felt that many clients were being shown around their site, but they were unable to tell what high level work was actually taking place.

HOW WE HELPED.

After visiting BSI’s offices, we compiled a wishlist of projects aimed at boosting brand awareness and visual enhancement.

This included creating visual vinyl graphics for machinery to explain what the machine did and how it worked, short video animations for welcome screens in meeting rooms, large wall graphics to promote the brand's heritage and services, and even small branded wall and floor signs. By liaising with the printers and installers, we ensured that each print and vinyl was precisely specified for seamless application.

We continue to visit BSI, measuring up new projects to ensure consistent branding across their Loughborough offices. Moreover, due to the high level of work and client satisfaction, we have commenced work on the branding and visual elements for their new offices in Hemel Hempstead.
