Plant Plant is a family run business established by its current CEO, Tim Dallow who has had a passion for Plants for almost 50 years years! They have a team of experts who can help with design, plant selection, installation, and ongoing maintenance to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

The Context

Plant Plan approached Absolute to design and build their new M2 site (the perfect open source ecommerce platform), taking advantage of our full service offering by undertaking a comprehensive Customer Experience Optimisation Workshop, full product API integration,  plus the creation and development of a brand new green wall configurator feature (previously only available offline to customers).

We took the time to understand the existing user journey by undertaking a comprehensive UX workshop, where we identified three very distinct customer personas: the B2C plant rental market, Interior Design Specifiers and bespoke Architecture projects. 
 

By understanding the attribute set required for each separate customer group, we were able to create meaningful journeys for each user type. We also created the visual hierarchy and design styling for the site, based on the clients existing branding.

A key feature of the new build is the development and creation of a bespoke third party API integration where we take supplier catalogue and inventory levels & run cron jobs to check hourly updates. This is critical for live projects as it enables Plant Plan to manage the individual needs of their customers. Furthermore we enhanced the B2B offering by using Cart2quote for their account customers to specify and negotiate larger order and agree these in terms of scope and price prior to these entering Magento’s workflow and associated processes (including inventory check, order processing, email confirmation and order history) 
 
Another unique feature we added to the existing Magento workflow was the creation of a ‘Green Wall Configurator’ where we worked out an algorithm to generate a bespoke Green Wall, based on type of Moss, customer location and installation if this is required. This all is then injected once approved as a Magento custom configurable product.   
 
Now that Phase 1 of the project is live, the future is looking rosey for Plant Plan as there are a number of post live features and enhancements that will be added to the site in the coming months. Chief amongst which is to expand the current B2B offering along with taking out a monthly maintenance contract to support the growing needs of the business.
